Summer Program at Glen Urquhart School
The GUS summer program has a long-standing tradition of combining educational, hands-on workshops with easygoing summertime fun for children ages 4 to 15. The atmosphere is noncompetitive, creative, inquisitive, playful, and relaxed. We offer one and two-week sessions, with half and full-day options. Pre-registration is required for all programs. Hours are 7:45 AM–5:00 PM. Camp begins June 24 and ends August 2. We will be closed on Thursday, July 4.
Summer pARTners Art Academy: Glen Urquhart and Montserrat College of Art have formed a partnership, pARTners, to further the art education opportunities for both institutions. We are excited to offer Summer pARTners workshops, taught by Montserrat College faculty and students, for serious art students entering grades 5 through 9 who are looking for a sophisticated and focused setting to create art for their portfolios.
Our Campus
We are located on twenty-three acres of woodlands and fields in Beverly
Farms, just one mile from beautiful West Beach. We take trips to the beach
and play on our outdoor basketball court, playground and play structure,
athletic fields, and in our air-controlled gymnasium. In summer, we offer
complete access to classrooms, science labs, computers, SMART Boards,
sky-lit art studio and kiln, kitchens, and auditorium.
Our Teachers and Staff
Staff members are chosen for their experience, sense of humor, enjoyment
of children, and commitment to making our summer program fun, inspiring,
and safe for everyone. Professional teachers lead our morning workshops
assisted by responsible adult counselors. Adult-to-participant ratios
average 1-7. We employ a full-time nurse.
Our Philosophy
We encourage children to discover the best within themselves and others, to treat everyone with kindness and respect, and to have a safe and fun-filled summer!
